The University of Strathclyde is planning to support a University Award application to the Wellcome Trust in the Medical Humanities and History.

Its Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare (CSHHH Glasgow) is an internationally recognised research environment with a focus on the experiences of health and medicine in the modern period around the world. The award would secure for the successful candidate a permanent lectureship in the CSHHH. We invite applications from those that have an established track-record of research, teaching and post-graduate supervision in the history of health and medicine. CSHHH Glasgow is part of a wider History team in the School of Humanities, so an ability to collaborate with colleagues in the following areas would be an advantage:

  • Scotland and the World
  • Peace, Conflict and Identity
  • Oral History

The successful applicant will be expected to work up a preliminary application to the Wellcome Trust with colleagues from the CSHHH by July 2015 and a full application by September 2015.

If you would like to apply to be a candidate for this Wellcome Trust University Award competition, please send an up to date CV and five-year research plan to Dr Matthew Smith by 6 May 2015. Inquiries may also be made to Dr Smith via email or 0141 444 8353.
