The Centre for Medical Humanities would like to welcome Professors Nancy Cartwright and Julian Reiss to Durham University. Among her many other research interests and achievements in the history and philosophy of science, Nancy Cartwright is an expert in objectivity and evidence, especially evidence-based policy. Nancy and Julian will will be joining the Philosophy Department in autumn 2012 to set up a new Centre broadly concerned with “Knowledge, Culture and the Public Good”. Wendy Parker will join the Centre in May 2013.
