The rise of well-being in public health (WHO Webinar, Friday 7 November 2014)

You are warmly invited to the next World Health Organization Global Health Histories webinar – ‘How satisfied are you with your life these days? The rise of well-being in public health’ on Friday 7 November (12:30 – 14:00pm CEST). This seminar will seek to chart the rise of the concept of well-being from a variety of angles, tracing the deeper history of an idea that reaches back into antiquity, challenging the modern conceptions of the term, and reflecting on how well-being and well-being measurement have been incorporated into WHO’s work in Europe. This seminar will be streamed live over the internet. The link is: http://streaming.uncity.dk/who/ and will be activated at 12.30 CEST (11.30 BST) on November 7. Anybody who wants to interact with the seminar will be able to tweet to #GHHistories or email us.

This month’s speakers are Professor Mark Jackson (Exeter University), Professor Sarah Atkinson (Durham University), Dr Claudia Stein (Division of Information, Evidence, Research and Innovation, WHO/EURO) and Dr Agis Tsouros (Division of Policy and Governance for Health and Well-being, WHO/EURO).
