‘Sensory Modernism(s)’, seeks to address the interrelationship of modernism with sensory perception. The spirit of the conference is interdisciplinary, and invokes characterisations of modernism derived from a wide range of discursive domains. Abstracts of 200-300 words, with a brief bio of no more than 200 words, should be emailed by 15 April 2015.

To celebrate the centenary of Mary Braddon’s death, we are inviting entrants to submit a witness statement based on any aspect of Braddon’s best known text, Lady Audley’s Secret.

These can take any form, so, for example, they could be a section from a police officer’s notebook, a newspaper cutting or a calling card etc. They can also take the form of a tweet about a specific event in the story.

Entries should be a maximum of 200 words and the competition is open to all – undergraduate, postgraduate students and staff, as well as external senior-school aged entrants.

All entries will be published on this blog and we’ll also be previewing some of them via the ICVWW Facebook page and Twitter (@ICVWW).

You can also download a poster for it via this link

The closing date for entries is April 30th.
