Evidence reviews have recommended structured support in care pathways for children with neurodisability and feeding difficulties (where a gastrostomy feeding tube is indicated) and their families. This two-year post offers an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on an NIHR HS&DR funded project identifying best practice models of psychosocial support through a national e-survey of policy and practice and an ethnographic case study of exemplar models and their costs.
The post requires an experienced Postdoctoral researcher, with skills in qualitative research and project management.
In conjunction with the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr Gill Craig, the Research Fellow will be responsible for delivering project outcomes and co-supervising a research assistant. The post holder will be expected to work with an advisory group of therapists, clinicians, parents and service users to help steer the project and work with children, young people and their families to input into all aspects of the research, including: the development of research instruments, and the dissemination of findings. The findings will assist with the development of best practice guidance on support issues. We will also make recommendations for training and skilling the wider
Children’s workforce. The post holder will be encouraged to contribute to, and lead, further research proposals in the field of feeding children with neurodisability.
