Psychosis Special Interest Group
Inaugural Meeting

Durham University, Penthouse Suite at Collingwood College, 6 – 7.30pm
Durham University and Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust have established a joint Special Interest Group for Psychosis.
This group is open to all staff working in either the Trust or University, however will be of particular interest to those staff working in ‘psychosis services’ or who are involved in research within the field. A warm welcome is also extended to any service users who would like to attend.
The group will meet on a regular basis with dates/venues announced within TEWV e-bulletin and the University communications.
There will be a wide range of topics and speakers throughout the year for this interactive and participative group.
For its inaugural meeting we are very fortunate to be able to present Professor Gail Hornstein, who will lead a discussion on the importance of first-person narratives of psychosis, emphasising the ways that professionals might usefully rethink some standard assumptions about what does and does not help people in distress.
