Place shaping to create health and wellbeing
Fuse Quarterly Research Meeting co-hosted by Gateshead Primary Care Trust

The purpose of this event is to explore how the places we live in impact on health and wellbeing, taking into account the powers and functions of local Councils and their responsibilities for public health, and ways of gathering evidence more systematically to support the development of healthy places. Registration is from 9:00-9:30am finishing with lunch from 1:00pm. This meeting reflects the imperative of, and opportunity presented by, closer working between local government and NHS staff, under the umbrella of Health & Wellbeing Boards.
Prof David Hunter, Deputy Director Fuse will chair the event with Alyson Learmonth, Director of Public Health for Gateshead PCT. Confirmed speakers at the event include:

- Mr Mike White, Senior R&D Fellow in Arts and Health, Centre for Medical Humanities, Durham University

Who should attend? This QRM is intended for a broad audience across any local government function which contributes to environmental change that supports health and wellbeing, practitioners from health and the third sector interested in a coordinated approach in this field, and academic researchers.
