PhD Opportunities: Wellcome Trust Health and Wellbeing Studentships (University of Exeter)

Up to 12 PhD bursaries are available in 2018 for transdisciplinary research on health and wellbeing based in the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health at the University of Exeter.

The Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health opened in April 2017 with a £4.1m research grant from the Wellcome Trust with match-funding from the University of Exeter. The Centre builds on successful research clusters across the University and on the University’s Humanities and Social Science Strategy. Transdisciplinary and international in its approach, the Centre brings together leading scholars across the medical humanities, social sciences and health research with the aim of understanding how we can create and sustain cultures and environments that enable health and wellbeing across the life course.

The Centre welcomes applications from those with traditional academic backgrounds (at least an upper second class honours degree or equivalent) and/or those with work or lived experience that provides the necessary and relevant expertise in the research area. The Centre will accept applications from individuals of all nationalities.

Application for these studentships is a 2-stage process, with a deadline of 14th January 2018 for initial expressions of interest.
