Medicine Unboxed is a project which looks to engage the public and healthcare professionals jointly, on a view of medicine that is necessarily more than the technical – one informed by the humanities and demanding an appraisal of patient experience, clinical ethics and the goals of medicine. We see that a dialogue around the goals of medicine and criterion for ‘good’ medicine between the public and NHS as overdue and pressing. We think Medicine Unboxed can provide a route into that dialogue through the arts, whilst being unabashedly ethical and political in our aspirations.
This year’s event – ‘Medicine & Values’ is on Saturday 15th October at Parabola Arts Centre, Cheltenham. The programme is below and registrations can be done online.
