Come and celebrate the Liverpool launch of a powerful new book Fat Activism: A Radical Social Movement!

Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool, Friday 17 June, 6.30-8.30pm

This exciting work by author and activist Charlotte Cooper is the product of a four year research project that asks ‘what do fat activists do?’ It is a refreshing take on fat people’s communities, histories and cultures as the war on obesity rages on.

Join us for a critically inspiring talk and Q&A with the author and a special screening of SWAGGA, a film made by artist Katarzyna Perlak about the process of creating the dance piece SWAGGA, a dance crafted out of strong wills and trembling flesh, featuring Charlotte Cooper and Kay Hyatt.

Dr Charlotte Cooper is a qualified psychotherapist and cultural worker whose involvement with fat activism stretches back 30 years. She blogs at Obesity Timebomb.

This event is presented by DaDaFest in collaboration with University of Liverpool’s engage@liverpool and is introduced and hosted by Dr Bethan Evans. Tickets are free but booking in advance is advised. Call Bluecoat’s Ticket and Information on 0151 702 5324.
