Health Humanities: A Somatosphere Conference Review

posted on February 6, 2025

“Health Humanities: Building the Future of Research and Teaching” was a working symposium held on April 4-5, 2014 at the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies at the University of Iowa with the intention of assessing, analyzing, and generating action in the field of health humanities. A detailed, lively and engaging review of the event by Jillian Linster, doctoral candidate in English literature at the University of Iowa, has just been published on the Somatosphere web site.

As regular readers of this blog will know, there have been long-simmering debates about the relationship between the medical and health humanities…it would be fascinating to read your thoughts here as to where and how you see these being played out now and in the future.
