Feminist Phenomenology and Medicine Conference: Uppsala, Sweden May 18­‐21, 2011

The programme for the Feminist Phenomenology and Medicine conference in Uppsala, Sweden, has just been released, showcasing an incredible line-up of speakers from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds.

Here are just some of the titles which leapt out on a first glance: “The gender of bodily fluids and odours,” “Not just ‘fat’ to ‘thin’: ‘Trans-en-abled’ embodiment after weight loss surgery,” “Touch me, I want to feel your body!: Old age, masculinity and meanings of touch” and “Women, hearts and narrative: A case for a phenomenological approach to clinical diagnostics.”
