Centre for Medical Humanities Postgraduate Group – First Meeting 13 October 2011

We are a group of postgraduate students working in various disciplines and on a wide variety of topics and will be meeting on a regular basis (once every month or two) to discuss different medical humanities related themes and events. The meeting will usually be held on Thursday mornings, from 10am-12noon, which normally coincides with the morning following CMH seminars. Our sessions will then be followed by an informal lunch which offers the opportunity to meet the CMH team and visiting fellows. The group is open to exploring different themes, providing they are loosely based around the medical humanities, and suggestions from all of its members are welcome.

Any interested postgraduates are invited to an introductory session on 13th October 2011 in the Garden Room, St Aidan’s from 10 a.m. – 12.00 noon. Refreshments will be served and the meeting will be followed by a buffet lunch served at Van Mildert College.

In this session, we would like to welcome any new individuals, have a short exploration of what the ‘medical humanities’ means to each of us and our research, and to discuss any ideas of what we’d like to cover in the group for the forthcoming year. To confirm attendance to this session or to raise any questions interested postgraduates should contact Abi McNiven.
